Description
Duties:
- Structural welding to fabricate and install steel pipes and fittings
- Works with Mechanical drawing, schematics and diagrams
- Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
- Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, and shielded metal arc welding.
- Interpret drawings and specifications, and perform essential duties and requirements of A.S.M.E. F/W-B, A.S.M.E. F/W-C, and A.S.M.E. F/W-D.
- Operates and uses equipment and tools including, but not limited to, acetylene equipment, welders, abrasive cutting wheels, drills, and forklifts.
- Must be a team player.
Education:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.
- One to two years MIG and TIG welding experience
Certifications:
- Must pass weld test on a 6G TIG on schedule 80, 2 and a half inch pipe and 3G TIG plate test
- Must also pass weld test on a MIG Root with Flux Core fill and cap
